I have spoken previously about this recipe and how it is my idea of fudge – crumbly caramel perfection. It has taken me a while to post up seeing this is from Christmas. I can’t trust myself to make another batch until next Christmas.
It doesn’t present as beautifully as Jo’s Fabulous Fudge but that is part of its charm. If I add some roasted macadamia nuts it would be … no words for it, maybe just naughty.
russian caramels
(from ‘Food With A View’ from St Margaret’s Foundation)
125g butter
1 cup sugar
395g tin condensed milk
In a saucepan, over a low heat, stir together the butter and sugar until the sugar is dissolved. Pour in the condensed milk and bring to the boil.
Boil for 20 minutes, stirring constantly. Pour into a lined slice tin and leave to cool and set.

This was simple to make and absolutely delicious. Like you, I think I will have to restrict myself to making this as a rare treat. It was almost impossible to leave alone. Thank you so much for posting it.
Good to hear Linda. They make a lovely gift stacked in a clear bag and tied with a ribbon. That way you can share the calories!
